The Vienna Chamber Orchestra
Founded in 1946, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra is one of the globally most established ensembles of its kind. Precision, stylistic versatility, and a transparent sound have defined the orchestra’s artistic identity from the very beginning.
Its core repertoire focuses on the Viennese Classical period, with works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, complemented by compositions from the Baroque era to the present day. Collaborations with internationally acclaimed soloists and conductors create a dynamic artistic dialogue between tradition and innovation.
Since the 2023/24 season, Jan Willem de Vriend has served as Chief Conductor. With regular performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus and international tours, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra remains a vital presence in Europe’s musical landscape.
