Biography
Slovak soprano Simona Šaturová, born in Bratislava, began violin lessons at the age of five. After completing her secondary education, she studied voice at the Bratislava Conservatory and attended master classes with esteemed instructors such as Ileana Cotrubaș and Margreet Honig.
Šaturová is internationally acclaimed both on the opera stage and in concert settings. She has performed at prestigious opera houses including Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Opéra de Monte Carlo, Oper Frankfurt, and Semperoper Dresden. Her repertoire features key roles such as Lucia in "Lucia di Lammermoor," Adina in "L’elisir d’amore," Gilda in "Rigoletto," Donna Anna in "Don Giovanni," and Elettra in "Idomeneo."
As a sought-after concert and oratorio singer, she has collaborated with renowned orchestras and conductors worldwide. Career highlights include performances with the Vienna Philharmonic under Herbert Blomstedt, the Munich Philharmonic under Krzysztof Urbański, and the Czech Philharmonic under Christoph Eschenbach.
Šaturová's discography includes recordings with labels such as Supraphon, Hänssler Classic, and Sony/BMG. Her solo CD "Haydn Arias" with the NDR Radiophilharmonie conducted by Alessandro De Marchi has been highly praised by critics.
