Biography
Lilia Pocitari was born on September 26th, 1997 in the capital of Moldova â ChiÈinÄu, in a family of musicians. She began playing the violin at the age of three. She had studied with Radu Popescu in Bucharest; Galina Buinovschi and Svetlana Balaescu in Chisinau. In 2019, Lilia completed her Bachelor Degree at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv in the class of Ilya Konovalov. Â Â Â
Currently, she is studying for Master of Music at the Hochschule fĂŒr Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Prof. Ulf Wallin and for Certificate of Performance in Musik und Kunst PrivatuniversitĂ€t der Stadt in Vienna with Julian Rachlin.
Lilia has won prizes in international competitions in Romania, Lithuania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine and Khazakhstan: 1st Prize at the International Competition Europa fest âJeunesses Musicalesâ, Bucharest â Romania; Grand Prix and the Special Prize of the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) at the International competition âBalys Dvarionasâ, Vilnius â Lithuania; Gold Medal at the International Delphic Games in Astana â Khazakhstan, and others.
She performed with following conductors: Patrick Strub, Juhani Numminen, Oleg Palymski, Vasile Goia, Neil Thompson, Zubin Mehta.
Lilia participated in masterclasses with Stefan Gheorghiu, Julian Rachlin, Alexey Lundin, Alexander Vinetsky, Pinchas Zukerman, Christian Tetzlaff, Sherban Lupu, Philip Bride, Marine Iashvili, Alexander Bonduriansky and Silvia Marcovici.
