Biography
​
Elena Christodoulou is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist who has performed piano recitals and chamber music concerts across North America, Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Her concert appearances have taken her to cities including Salzburg, Boston, Salt Lake City, Dayton, Rome, and Dubai, as well as to major venues such as the Cairo Opera House, the Alexandria Opera House, Vahdat Hall, Roudaki Hall, the Megaron Concert Hall Athens, and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. She has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Wiener KammerOrchester, the Orchestra of Colours, the Italian Camerata String Orchestra Partenopea, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the American College of Greece, and the Greek Saxophone Orchestra under the artistic direction of Theodoros Kerkezos. She has also recorded for the Greek National Radio, Greek television, and the Greek radio broadcasting service in Boston.
Christodoulou has been invited by the Greek Composers’ Union to interpret works by contemporary Greek composers, many of whom have dedicated compositions to her. She has presented a series of piano masterclasses and concerts in Iran under the auspices of Tehran Arts University, as well as at the International Summer Academy of the Zeus Music Festival in Greece, organized under the auspices of the Vladimir Spivakov and Vladimir Krainev International Charity Foundation. She has collaborated with several embassies in Greece, including the Embassy of Serbia in Greece under the patronage of Princess Katherine of Serbia, with the aim of promoting Greek, American, and European classical music. In addition, she has taught music courses at the American College of Greece within its School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
A recipient of both the Fulbright Program and the Onassis Foundation scholarships, she earned her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she studied with Michael Lewin. She also worked with distinguished pianists including Leon Fleisher, Jacob Lateiner at the Mozarteum Academy, Aquilles delle Vigne, Nicolae Petrof, and Marcella Crudelli. She received her Piano Diploma with Honors and a gold medal under the guidance of Dimitri Toufexis. She graduated from Deree The American College of Greece with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with Highest Distinction, and in recognition of her artistic contribution to the institution she was awarded the Special Artistic Award by its president, John S. Bailey.
