Carl Orff

Carl Orff, born in 1895 in Munich and deceased in 1982 in the same city, was a German composer and music educator best known for his monumental work Carmina Burana. Orff developed a unique approach to music education, the Orff Schulwerk, emphasizing rhythm and movement. His compositions are often characterized by powerful rhythms and a minimalistic harmonic structure. Orff was greatly inspired by ancient and medieval texts, which he interpreted in his music with dramatic intensity and engaging rhythms.
