Simone Rubino

Born in Chiavasso/Turin in 1993, the percussionist Simone Rubino studies with Prof. Peter Sadlo in Munich today. It was together with his teacher that he celebrated his debut at the Symphony Orchestra of RAI Torino in 2008 at the Auditorium “Arturo Toscanini” in Turin. The young Italian began his studies at the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” there and has won numerous prizes and scholarships in his native country, including the National Arts Award and the Orfeo d’Oro. He has also worked with the violinist Salvatore Accardo and the Serbian percussionist Jovan Zivkovic at the latter’s festival in Novi Sad. Simone Rubino is a member of the percussion quartet “Out of Time”. At the 2013 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Music Academy Competition he won the second prize in the percussion category.
