Biografie
Josef Semeleder was born in Vienna in 1984. He received his musical education at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Werner Fleischmann and Josef Niederhammer. He graduated in 2012 with honors.
From 1998 to 2000 Josef was an awardee at "prima la musica" and at the international music competition Stresa, Italy. He participated in master classes with Zoran Markovic and Alberto Bocini. Josef has performed with several orchestras including The Vienna Symphony, The Munich Philharmonics, The Tonkuenstler Orchestra Niederösterreich, The Bruckner Orchestra Linz, The Ambassade Orchestra Vienna and at the ViennaVolksopera and the Vereinigten Buehnen Wien
In 2006/07 Josef was an Academist of the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna.From 2007 to 2009 he played with the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2010 Josef has been a member of The SWR Symphony (previously the Radio-Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart of the SWR).
As a soloist he has been part of orchestra performances together with The Webern Symphony Orchestra and The Franz Schmidt Chamber Orchestra.
As an actor he performed the one-act monologue "Der Kontrabass" from Patrick Sueskind.
