Gelsomino Rocco
Biografie
Gelsomino Rocco, born in Singen (Germany), studied conducting at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden until 2008, he received a scholarship of the Forum Tiberius and Bayreuth and in 2004 he joined the Semperoper at Fritsch's Chamber Opera "Nico. Sphinx aus Eis".
As musical assistant of Massimo Zanetti and Fabio Luisi he worked among others on Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro", Puccini's "Tosca", Wagner's "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" and Hindemith's "Cardillac". He conducted among others the Elblandphilharmonie and the Erzgebirgische Philharmonie.
He led in the semper kleine szene among others Mc Nallys masterclass. 2009 he was entrusted with the artistic direction of the Symphony Chorus of Semperober, 2010-2012 he was engaged as répétiteur with conductor commitment at the theatres of Regensburg, where he and others conducted two musical theatre productions.
The first time he worked at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna was in the year 2009 with Fabio Luisi in Rossini's "Ilturco in Italia".
