Conductor

Maestro Fan is one of the most demanded and acclaimed artists in China, beloved by audiences, singers, and orchestra musicians. Mr. Fan currently holds the rank of National First Class Conductor in China. In May 2000, he won a special prize at the 2nd International Sibelius Conducting Competition in Finland, along with a grant to continue his studies with world-renowned conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, Chairman Jury of the Sibelius Conducting Competition. Salonen was extremely impressed by Mr. Fan's interpretation of Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, commenting, "Mr. Fan's ability to control the orchestra is superb, and he is an outstanding professional conductor". 
 After graduating from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Professor XiaoTong Huang, Mr. Fan was appointed the Chief Conductor of the National Radio and Film Symphony Orchestra in Beijing in 1995. In 2001, he received a full scholarship from Florida State University to pursue his Master's degree in Conducting Major under famed pedagogue Phillip Spurgeon. 
Mr. Fan's made an outstanding New York Carnegie Hall debut in 2003, performing a series of works by American contemporary composers. Since then, he has gone on to tour in the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. As a guest conductor, as well as in the operatic pit, he is in high demand working at the highest level with all leading orchestras in China, HongKong and Taiwan. In 2010, Mr. Fan successfully toured the Eastern Europe and the United States with the National Radio and Film Symphony Orchestra of China. He has served as the music director of Beijing Accent Symphony Orchestra starting in 2012 and Shanghai Festival Symphony Orchestra in 2014. As a dedicated educator, he has been the president of Central Conservatory Preparatory School in Beijing since 2015 and is currently a visiting professor at the ShenYang Conservatory of Music. 
Mr. Fan has collaborated with many global organizations, including the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Finnish National Radio Orchestra, the Brandenburger Staatsorchester Frankfurt, the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, the North Czech Philharmonic, the Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Lviv National Philharmonic, the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, the Vienna Schonbrunn Palace Orchestra, the Buenos Aires Philharmonic, the Slovak Sinfonietta, the Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oberlin Symphony Orchestra, the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, and the John Hopkins Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Mr. Fan has performed at the Sydney Opera House, Hollywood Dolby Theatre, Teatro Colon, and National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. 
Mr. Fan is extremely active in touring with international orchestras performing in China and overseas. His most successful tours have included the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (2015-2019 season), the Lviv National Philharmonic (2019 season), the HongKong Pan-Asia Symphony Orchestra (40th anniversary 2017-2018 season), the Moldova National Symphony Orchestra ("Teleradio-Moldova" 2017 season), the Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra and Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra performing in Italy (2014-2015 season), the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra of Czech Republic (2010-2011 season), the Oberlin Symphony Orchestra (2009 season) and the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra (2008 season). 
In addition to performing, Mr. Fan has juried many prestigious competitions. He served as a final juror at the 2007 Oberlin Conservatory International Piano and Violin Competitions as well as at the 2011 Cleveland International Violin Competition. He has produced dozens of acclaimed classical CDs, with his recordings of 2007 earning him the title "The most outstanding conductor of the year in Asia". In 2008, he was named "The most outstanding executive of the year in Asia" in recognition of his production of classical CDs. Both his interviews and his recordings are frequently broadcasted on Chinese national radio and television station.
