Scott Colley

Scott Colley, born in Los Angeles, California, USA, is an American jazz double bassist. He began his musical training on the bass at the age of eleven and became a student of Monty Budwig in 1976. 

Colley has performed with a variety of famous musicians, including Herbie Hancock, Jim Hall, Michael Brecker, Pat Metheny, and Carmen McRae. He is considered one of the leading bassists in the field of improvised music and is highly regarded for his compositions and leadership skills. Colley studied jazz and composition at the California Institute for the Arts, graduated in 1988, and then moved to New York.
