In 2009, the French mezzo-soprano GAELLE ARQUEZ won the gold medal of the vocal competition of the Paris Conservatory. She made her spectacular debut at the Opéra Bastille in Paris in 2013 as Zerlina in Don Giovanni, conducted by Philippe Jordan and directed by Michael Haneke. Since then the singer has been invited by major opera houses and festivals worldwide. Recent and near future appearances have included Carmen in Frankfurt, at the Bregenz Festival, at the Teatro Real in Madrid, at the Bavarian State Opera and at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London; Adalgisa, Serse and Mélisande in Frankfurt; Medea (Teseo) at the Theater an der Wien; Armide in Brussels; Juditha (Juditha triumphans) in Amsterdam; Iphigénie (Iphigénie en Tauride) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées; Cherubino at the Metropolitan Opera in New York; Cenerentola at the Beaune Festival; Isolier (Le Comte Ory) in Paris and Versailles, further appearances in Falstaff and L'incoronazione di Poppea in Paris. She made her debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2016 as Armide.
