Antonia Straka was born in Vienna in 2002 and has been playing the cello since the age of eight. From 2010-2017 she received lessons from her father and at the Music School of the City of Vienna.
From October 2017 Antonia studied in the preparatory course at the "mdw -University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna" with Mag. Maria Grün, where she also participated in the "Young Masters Program".
Currently she continues her studies with László Fenyö at the "Hochschule für Musik" in Karlsruhe. Master classes with Josef Luitz, Bruno Weinmeister, Wen-Sinn Yang, Peter Bruns, Gustav Rivinius and Kian Soltani are a great enrichment for her artistic development.
Antonia Straka is a multiple state and national Prima la musica prize winner and winner of Allegro Vivo 2018 and 2019, as well as a prize winner of Musica Juventutis 2020. In October 2021, she debuted in the Schubertsaal of the Vienna Konzerthaus and was heard as soloist in Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the "Next Generation Orchestra" of the Vienna Musikgymnasium. Recently she made her debut as soloist with the Slovak Radio Orchestra conducted by Yalchin Adigezalov in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. As of 2022, Antonia is a scholarship holder at the International Music Academy Liechtenstein.
Antonia plays on a cello made by the Italian violin maker Giuseppe Sgarbi in 1885.
