With this concert Philippe Entremont says goodbye to his beloved musical city Vienna. Philippe was principal conductor of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra from 1976 to 1991 and has been honorary conductor for life ever since.
He began his extraordinary career as a pianist at the age of 18 with a successful performance at Carnegie Hall in New York. He played over 7000 concerts worldwide and collaborated with renowned conductors and orchestras. In addition to his pianist career, he was also active as a conductor, leading symphony orchestras around the world.
He teaches piano at the Schola Cantorum in Paris. Despite interruptions due to the Covid 19 pandemic, he continues his concert activities and recordings. Entremont has been honored with various orders and awards, including the French Legion of Honor and the Order of Merit.
