Art and culture are close to the heart of the organizer!

That is why we are committed to preserving culture and are working on our festival  programme 2021. "Because we are convinced that art and culture not only provide for beneficial distraction and distraction, but are indispensable in dealing with existential questions of humanity," confirms our artistic director Dr. Christian Hieke.

Literature, music and the stage open up spaces of exchange and understanding, are places where social conflicts can be negotiated and offer connection beyond language. Dr. Johanna Mitterbauer, commercial director of the Festwochen, sees a need for cultural continuity: "Cultural institutions prove to be bridge builders, which connect people, across borders, especially in difficult times. Although public encounters and debate are currently severely restricted, we want to invest in the future together with our partners in order to reserve the cultural diversity in our rich region."
